Scott M. Mitnick is an associate attorney at Liss & Shapero. He is currently licensed to practice law in Michigan, Illinois, and the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. Scott was born in Detroit, Michigan and has been a lifelong Michigan resident.

Scott attended Bloomfield Hills Andover High School, where after school he worked as a file clerk at the 48th District Court. After high school, Scott attended the James Madison College at Michigan State University where graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Relations with a specialization in Criminal Justice. At Michigan State Scott was selected to Phi Beta Kappa and the Dean's Honor List. During his undergraduate years Scott clerked both at a Lansing based law firm, which represents over four hundred public school boards for various legal matters, and a Farmington Hills based law firm that specialized in family law, collections, and personal injury.

After completing his undergraduate degree, Scott attended the University Of Detroit Mercy School Of Law. In 2005 while in law school, Scott was an active member of the U of D Moot Court Board of Advocates. During law school he interned for the Honorable Avern Cohn, US Federal Court Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan, and then worked as a law clerk at Liss & Shapero beginning in 2005.

Upon passing the Michigan Bar Exam in 2007, he was hired as an associate attorney at Liss & Shapero. Scott also passed the Illinois Bar Exam in 2008. Scott's practice focuses on civil litigation issues including auto negligence, insurance litigation, premise liability, Social Security Disability, and other aspects personal injury law. He has extensive experience with trials, depositions, Social Security Disability hearings, motion practice, legal writing, and appellate writing.
