Robert Liss is the founder and Managing Partner of Berkley, Michigan-based Liss, Shapero & Mitnick, a personal injury law firm. He looks forward to his retirement in 2021 and more time with his children and grandchildren. He created his Firm with a vision to provide outstanding service, meaningful education and measurable results.
Mr. Liss has been practicing law in Metro Detroit for more than 60 years. Following law school, Mr. Liss served in the National Guard as a captain, and later served in the reserves for an additional six years. Subsequent to his active military service, Mr. Liss entered into private practice and pursued a wide range of legal work including bankruptcy, commercial transactions, real estate, family law and other general practice matters.
As laws became increasingly specialized, Mr. Liss shifted his attentions from a broad general practice to personal injury law. He concentrated on developing a deep understanding of the changing “No-Fault” automobile laws in Michigan. Today, Mr. Liss is recognized for his specialized knowledge of these laws and for his many successes. He is admitted to practice in all Michigan State Courts, U.S. District Court, U.S. Court of Appeals, U.S. Supreme Court and on a specific basis in other state courts.
Mr. Liss is a member of the Michigan Bar Association, American Bar Association, Detroit Bar Association, Oakland County Bar Association, American Trail Lawyers Association, and Michigan Trial Lawyers Association.
