Car accidents in Michigan sometimes leave questions unanswered

A car crash has the potential to be one of the most devastating events in the life of any family. Michigan families who are unfortunate enough to have loved ones involved in car accidents may struggle to understand the reasons a collision occurred. In the case of a recent accident, the local police are also searching for answers in a crash that injured two people.

The accident occurred on a recent afternoon here in Michigan. A young woman driving in an SUV reportedly ran a stop light and hit a truck that was going through the intersection. The young male driver of the truck was taken to a local hospital with injuries sustained to his head. The young woman had to be rushed to hospital for serious injuries. A toddler who was also in the SUV suffered injuries as well, though is now listed in fair condition.

At this time, police have not disclosed a reason as to why the young woman may have run the red light. There is no word on whether she was distracted at the time of the accident or under the influence of any drugs or alcohol. Though other vehicles were hit by some pieces of the wreckage, no other injuries were reported.

The driver of the truck may decide to seek a civil claim against the woman who ran the red light, if she is determined to be at fault for the crash. A successful claim could result in monetary compensation that could be used for unpaid medical expenses or other costs that may have resulted from the collision. Car accidents like this one here in Michigan are not uncommon and authorities will have to conduct a thorough investigation to determine what went wrong.
